XMAS

For unto us a Child is born.

Christmas has always been one of my favorite times of the year. And as I'm getting older I love genuinely remembering the true meaning of the season.

The season of CHRIST.

JD, Char, Justin & I drove home with a car stuffed full, listened to Serial for most of the drive, and ate my homemade trailmix that JD instantly looked at and said, "That's trailmix?" (*goldfish, chocolate covered pretzels, pretzel rods, and chocolate chips--in other words, deliciousness).

To our luck, the weather was great practically the whole way down besides one little ice patch. And like always, I was ready to get out of that freaking car by the time we got home (or a few hours before if we are being honest here).

Oh Utah you charmer.

Kept praying for enough snow to go x-country skiing & started to lose hope with just a few days left until JD and I had to leave. Luckily it came in time, we froze our butts off, and had a great time watching Liss live with her face firmly planted in the snow.

We were so blessed to have been able to spend so much time with our families that we'd been missing the two weeks we were home, and even though we didn't want to leave, we were ready to stop living out of our car for awhile.

Making the trek back home wasn't as smooth as we would have liked, but making it alive was all we could ask for. Ice patches made for a terrifying skid, and we hit a storm that ended up making the last hour and a half turn into four hours. But prayers were answered and we made it alive and well back to "the city of lights".

See you in 365 xmas.
