the end of the semester birds are singing their lovely song

So, another semester has come and gone...{almost}. Hallelujah is the first word/expression that comes to my mind. I have one final left on Thursday & it's the one I've been dreading the most: Survey of Physical Science. But, like my other finals {& the rest of the semester for that matter} it will come, go, & be over before I know it.

But let's toss that ugly news {of the final} into the drawer and focus on more exciting news.

Like the fact that I am officially scuba certified now! :) I can't wait to go in the ocean instead of just in the Midway crater or pools {that's where we did most of the class}. It was SOOO much fun & I'm extremely glad I was able to do it.

ALSO, words cannot begin to describe how much I am looking forward to my trip with J-White & my freaker Shay genius to Cali for a little bit of fun fun fun in the sun sun sun.

A week & a half...can I wait that long??
I guess I don't really have a choice.

Watch out world cuz we're on the fly..that's what we do.

And now, let's take a look at what a typical Tuesday night consists of at the Bat Cave:

I had just accidentally run over Brett's foot with my roller blades...
KC & I thought it was pretty funny

So, we decided for our roomie pics we were going to have a 90s theme {since, of course, we loved the 90s & the amazing style that was expressed in those years (as you can clearly see here in the previous pictures)}.

We went to DI, found some spectacular 90's apparel, and obviously {as the pictures show} weren't able to wait any longer to put them on. {In all honesty, who could??}

ATTENTION: These are not our roomie pics! But I thought you all might like to get a little bit of a sneak peek into what's to come :)

Keep Calm & Carry on
is my advice to all :)

Viva Las Vegas...Celine, me, and papa...

My dad & I VIVA'D Las Vegas :)
We left on Friday, April 8th and came home Sunday, the 10th.
Such a GREAT getaway w/ the best dad in the whole world.

Why, you ask, did we Viva Las Vegas?...come in close...& I'll tell you.
You've probably heard of Celine Dion. No big deal, but she's one of the most ridiculously amazing singers of all time. Well, we were lucky enough to go see her live. LIVE!

Here's the back story..."Once upon a time there was a young child named Kelsey born in 1991. Her father, Alan, loved Celine  & wanted to share her greatness with his daughter. So, they would listen to cd after cd & find themselves dumbfounded at her voice. Years went by. They continued to always share a love of her & wanted to eventually see & listen to her live. To their surprise, she started performing in sin city. They purchased the tickets in the early months of the year 2010. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, & many moons later, the time had FINALLY arrived. April 9, 2011 slowly crept up on them & then all of a sudden, (BAM) they were in the car road tripping it down there. Nothing could contain them. They were thrilled. They were ecstatic. They were ready."
So, there's how this all came about. We have daddy-daughter dates all the time & this one crawled up to the top of the list.

Went running in the morn down the strip{shocked??..you shouldn't be
(what we thought was only 2 miles turned into 5. That's what happens with us :))
Walked through the mall
M&M World
thumbs up to m&ms
they're a must have in the sorensen family

The Coca-Cola Store

super creepy coke bear...we had to get a pic

Rainforest Cafe for some dinner before the show

Then...on to the concert

oh hey celine
My Heart Will Go On & The Reason may or may not have brought a tear to my eye.
We couldn't believe we were actually there. It was absolutely amazing & I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.

Driving home the next morning...it was over...but it was amazing. We listened to Celine practically the entire way & we both ended up having her songs stuck in our heads for the next few days after that.
We were just fine with that though.

Best getaway ever.
Thanks dad. I couldn't have asked for a better time with you.
You're amazing & the best dad anyone could ever ask for :)
Love you!

So that happened,
& tonight, KC, Brett, & myself decided the condo need a little rearranging.
Mainly because we didn't want to do our homework.
Also, because we were too claustrophobic.

KC provided dinner...his delish homemade pizza. It twas spectacular.

Then we started with the creative moving of the furniture.

Darth watched over & made sure everything went as planned.

& then we took apart the table because it was taking up WAY too much space.

We ended the night with some Rock Band...rockin out fo sho.

It's been a good time.
Now, all that's left to do is finish up with finals...let's hope we can survive :)

yes please.

Love these two cuties

Friends, good food, and good music can be an excellent combo. So, me, Katie, Dave, and two of their friends went to Guru's for dinner and Allred was playing so that was an added bonus.

If you haven't heard of Allred, click play & listen up:

This past week I also went on a date to Texas Roadhouse for the first time EVER! Soooo good :)
You all need to go & get the New York Steak, mashed potatoes, cooked veggies, and rolls.
Wow.
Mmm.mmm.good.

The weekend finally came & it wasn't just any weekend. It was General Conference weekend.
I love Conference weekend. I go home, spend time with the fam, & get to hear some amazing messages from amazing men & women.

Read on my good friends:

I love these men.
Our family has a tradition that for every General Conference weekend my dad brings home See's chocolates and we stuff our faces with them while we listen to the talks.
Let's just say that I enjoy that :)

Late Saturday afternoon, I headed home & went cross country skiing with my mom and daddio.
It was the first time I'd done it in years!
We went up Smith Moorehouse (just up the canyon from my house), & it was gorgeous. So much fun to spend time with my parents.

like mother like daughter

I love Oakley because I get to drive ~10 minutes and get to find places like THIS to cross country ski during the winter, camp during the summer, and boat. What else do I need?? (well, a beach would be nice).

A great week filled with great people & great fun. Yes please.
